Day 3 - Workshops - Networking, The Niqab, Animation, New Media & Bahrain
Day Three is a made of up of interactive workshops and discussion groups. Here you'll have a chance to have your say about the films screened over the last two days, take part in a workshop around the subject of the 'niqab' (Arabic: نقاب, veil or Mask), discuss the impact of New Media on conflict (from mobile videos of 9/11, Twitter's impact on riots, through to the computer games of a revolution) and also see an additional free documentary film screening.
The third day will take place in the Small Hall, which is in Richmond building at the University of Bradford. Attendance is free, but you must book here:
This event is entirely free. Please come along, contribute your thoughts and learn in this informal and friendly environment. You are most welcome to attend the whole day, or just part of it, but it is recommended you attend in the blocks described below:
- A) 11:00-14:30 Introduction, and discussion of event films, Niqab Workshops and Lunch
- B) 14:30-15:30 Discussion Streams (New Media and Conflict) and screening Hammer and Nails (short animation), introduced by the animator
- C) 15:30-17:00 Shouting in the Dark (50 minute Al Jazeera documentary about the forgotten Bahrain revolt), accompanied by a brief talk from Al Jazeera (unconfirmed). Round-up discussions.
